Ladies Night A Great Success!

Flamingo Days Ladies Night was another Success!

Eatonton Mainstreet was please to host the 2nd Annual Flamingo Days Ladies Night Out at Blackwell Furniture’s historic Adele Theater Thursday, April 19th. The Ladies spent the evening being entertained by the acousic guitar playing and singing from Eatonton’s own Rodney Todd. Many comments were overheard raving about the amazing food offerings for all to enjoy. No one went away hungry! The Chamber of Commerce took part hosting the cash bar complete with wine, beer and a specialty drink dreated just for the evening. Lucky Ladies also went home with some very special Raffle Prizes courtesy of Eatonton’s Downtown Merchants. Prizes included many diffferent gift certificates, gift bags and items for the home. The evening raised over $500 for the Eatonton Mainstreet Program and we can’t wait to have it again next year!

Downtown Beautification Day Accomplished more than Planned!

The First Annual Downtown Beautification Day held March 17th was able to accomplish many things for downtown. Several groups including the Putnam County Middle School 4H group, the Putnam County Elementary School Safety Guards, the 2012 Chamber Leadership Group, the Putnam County High School JROTC, the Farmers & Merchants Bank Junior Board members as well as many individuals worked together to get downtown looking great! These volunteers helped plant new greenspaces in the Merchants Way Parking area, a new garden area at the corner of Sumter & Madison, spruced up Critter Park, picked up trash, weeded and placed pinestraw in planter beds throughout town and cleaned out the historic cemetary beside the Plaza Arts Center. Their hard work did not go unapprecaited….the evening ended with a cookout and dancing sponsored by the Peoples Bank in their parking lot. Thanks to everyone who helped give downtown a facelift and we hope you will come out to help next year too!
